Emptiness Filled

Do you feeling like you have an emptiness that you are trying to fill on the inside of you?

I know that for years, that I was trying to fill a void inside of me. At different stages of my life, I tried alcohol, food, shopping, men and mindless things, like the computer or TV. For me, these did not work. And of course, independent me thought I knew better and kept trying different things to fill this emptiness. No matter what I did, I still felt empty inside. I was searching for something. But, I didn't know what. Years were spent figure out what I was looking for.

I have always believed in God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. I went through 17 years of Catholic education. You would have thought that I would know everything by then. But, I didn't and it was obvious in my life. It was glaring right at me that I needed something new. What was that something new?

It wasn't until I fell completely flat on my face that I figured it out. It was Jesus...receiving Him into my life and asking forgiveness of my sins. At the time, I thought, " How can this be different?" And at first, it wasn't. It has been a process. But, until I started spending daily time with Jesus and having a relationship with Him is when I found true peace. A peace that no one can take. A peace that is freely given...I don't have to do anything to receive it. And neither do you.

Are you over-spending? Are you overeating? Partying to much, etc.? Are you spending way too much time doing mindless stuff, like TV or Facebook? Are you looking to fill that empty void in your life?
