Just Be
The Lord replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." - Exodus 33:14
As you read this...take it one word at a time and just breath. Just close your eyes in between each sentence and imagine you are there in the Lord's presence. Resting. Breathing. Listening. Looking. Seeking. Enjoying His creations.
You are sitting, in the warm sand, under this palm tree. You can feel warmth of the sand between your toes. It is soft against your skin. Seek your Heavenly Father. You begin to feel your muscles relaxing. Sit with your Heavenly Father. The sun is streaming through the palm leaves and it is dancing on your skin. It relaxes your breathing to be long steady breaths. Feel the warmth of your Father's love. There is a slight warm breeze. It is blowing your hair ever so slightly. Find your Father. As you take in a deep breath, you can smell the salty air. It fills your lungs. He is there. You hear the waves as they roll over the beach. The waves move in and out. In and out. Lulling you into a deeper relaxation. Listen for Him. You look up and you see the bright blue sky and the fluffy white clouds. You also notice the green palm leaves moving gently in the wind. It is a very peaceful scene. It is calming. Look to Him. You have an amazing God that provides such beauty and grace. You breath in His peace and breath out any remaining stress.
"Be still before the Lord, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling place." - Zechariah 2:13 NIV
To "Just Be" for me means to sit among, or imagine I am sitting with, the beautiful creations God created for me and you. What does it mean to you?
It is to "Just Be" wherever Jesus has placed me and praising His name, whether it is at home sitting in my favorite spot, at church, with my family, driving in my car, or at work. Where do you like to "Just Be" with Jesus?
Be with Jesus. In repentance and rest. In quietness and trust:
This is what the Sovereign Lord, The Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it." - Isaiah 30:15 NIV
Be with Jesus. He is there to shield you, so rest:
"Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders." - Deuteronomy 33:12
Be with Jesus. He will fill you with joy on your journey:
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. - Psalm 16:11 NIV
Your Heavenly Father is with you always and wants what is best for you.
"For I know I have plans for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
So just be.
